Book Review: Until I Die by Amy Plum

THIS IS THE 2ND BOOK IN THE SERIES!
Book 1- Die For Me ( My Review )

Title: Until I Die

Series: Revenants #2

4 Stars: I Really Liked It

Kate and Vincent have overcome the odds and at last they are together in Paris, the city of lights and love.

As their romance deepens there’s one question they can’t ignore: How are they supposed to be together if Vincent can’t resist sacrificing himself to save others? Although Vincent promises that he’ll do whatever it takes to lead a normal life with Kate, will that mean letting innocent people die? When a new and surprising enemy reveals itself, Kate realizes that even more may be at stake—and that Vincent’s immortality is in jeopardy.

In Die for Me, Amy Plum created a captivating paranormal mythology with immortal revenants and a lush Paris setting. Until I Die is poised to thrill readers with more heart-pounding suspense, spellbinding romance, and a cliff-hanger ending that will leave them desperate for the third and final novel in the series.

My Thoughts:
Until I Die picked up the story a month after Die For Me ends. Luckily, I’d read book 1 recently so I was ready to continue the tale. There were some great side characters in this series. Again, I loved Kate’s sister Georgia. She was so fun and spunky, always good for a laugh. Ambrose and Charlotte are great friends to have around, and Jules was great again. I’m interested to see where his feelings for Kate will lead since he is completely loyal to his friend Vincent.

This 2nd book in the series was a bit slower than book 1 for me, not really in a bad way. The romance was already established so all the intensity of finding love wasn’t really there since it was found already. I liked how mature Kate and Vincent were in their relationship. They do a good job talking through their feelings which made for a healthy relationship that I think will last.

I have to say that I didn’t like how intimate their relationship was getting. They’re not married, end of story. My personal belief is a man and woman should be married before they are sexually intimate so I don’t enjoy reading books where the main characters are too sexually intimate before marriage. They didn’t have sex, but I was thinking they would. Those scenes weren’t often though. Read my content ratings below for more details.

I loved the ending of this book! I know many of you might not agree, but it was just so exciting. I have high hopes for the way things will turn out. I’m looking forward to reading the next book in the series.

  1. Hi, Kathryn! I've been seeing this book around a bit, on my Amazon receommends and the book store shelf. Never picked it up to see what it was about. I did not know it was the second book of a planned trilogy.
After reading your review, though, I'd have to say it sdoes sound interesting and I am sorry I didn't give it more than a cursory glance when I've seen it. I think I'll have to give it a try.
