crossed, waiting on wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday: Crossed

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Crossed
by Ally Condie
Matched #2
Release Date is November 1, 2011

From Goodreads.com:
In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky – taken by the Society to his certain death – only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake.

Cassia’s quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander – who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia’s heart – change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.

Matched was the first book in this series, and I loved it! I read it this summer so I haven’t had to wait as long, but I’m still eagerly anticipating where Ally will take us next on this awesome adventure. The covers for this series are stunning.

What are you waiting on?

Waiting on Wednesday: Tuesdays at the Castle

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.
Tuesdays at the Castle
by Jessica Day George
Release Date is October 25, 2011
From Goodreads.com:
Tuesdays at Castle Glower are Princess Celie’s favorite days. That’s because on Tuesdays the castle adds a new room, a turret, or sometimes even an entire wing. No one ever knows what the castle will do next, and no one-other than Celie, that is-takes the time to map out the new additions. But when King and Queen Glower are ambushed and their fate is unknown, it’s up to Celie, with her secret knowledge of the castle’s never-ending twists and turns, to protect their home and save their kingdom. This delightful book from a fan- and bookseller-favorite kicks off a brand-new series sure to become a modern classic.
I love Jessica Day George’s books. I’m sure this will be another great series I’ll enjoy. I think it’ll be a younger book than I normally read, but I’m still going to check it out. I’m a sucker for princess and castle books!

Waiting on Wednesday- Cobbogoth

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

Cobbogoth
by Hannah L. Clark
Cobbogoth Book 1
Release Date is December 3, 2011

From Goodreads.com:
To seventeen-year-old Norah Lukens, the Cobbogothians were just a myth. But after her archeologist uncle’s brutal murder, and being asked to translate one of his old research journals for evidence, she begins a journey to discover the truth for herself.

Chasing the myth her uncle was obsessed with, Norah learns that his murder was a cover up for something far more sinister. If she hopes to save others from suffering the same fate he did–including the peculiarly magnetic James Riley–she must head to Iceland in order to find out the truth once and for all.

If she succeeds, she’ll gain the one thing she’s always longed for.

But if she fails, not even the gods can help her.

I am really excited about this book! I read the first two chapter on the author’s blog, and now I’m hooked. I can’t wait to read the rest of the story.

Clockwork Prince
by Cassandra Clare
The Infernal Devices Book 2
Release Date is December 6, 2011

From Goodreads.com:
In Clockwork Prince, with Mortmain vanished and the clock counting down on how long Charlotte can keep control of the Institute away from Benedict Lightwood, Will, Jem and Tessa must dig into Mortmain’s past to predict what he will do in the future, But secrets about Mortmain aren’t all they find buried — Tessa begins to uncover the truth about her own birth, and the ghosts of Will’s past return to haunt him. As Tessa grows closer to Jem, and Will is driven further toward the brink of madness by jealousy and guilt, will they discover the truth in time to halt the next phase of Mortmain’s evil plan?

It’s always exciting when the next book in a series you’ve waited over a year for is coming out! Not much else to say. I loved the first book in the series, Clockwork Angel, and I can’t wait to read this next installment.

the son of neptune, waiting on wednesday

Waiting on Wednesday: The Son of Neptune

“Waiting On” Wednesday is a weekly event, hosted by Jill at Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we’re eagerly anticipating.

The Son of Neptune
by Rick Riordan
Heroes of Olympus Book 2
Release Date is October 4, 2011

From Goodreads.com:

In The Lost Hero, three demigods named Jason, Piper, and Leo made their first visit to Camp Half-Blood, where they inherited a quest:
Seven half-bloods shall answer the call,
To storm or fire the world must fall.
An oath to keep with a final breath,
And foes bear arms to the Doors of Death.

Who are the other four mentioned in the prophecy? The answer may lie in another camp miles away, where a new camper has shown up and appears to be the son of Neptune, god of the sea…

I loved the first book in this series, The Lost Hero by Rick Riordan. This is the author who also wrote The Lightning Thief and the rest of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series. Great books! Lots of fun and adventure. I can’t wait!

Happy Reading! Not happy waiting. =)
