Thanksgiving in Montana
Is about family—and love!

Thanksgiving is the perfect time for Fiona Harrison to turn her life around. And she is sure finding a suitable husband will please her newfound family in Montana. When a dating app sends her every dud in town, handsome bartender Simon Clarke offers to be her matchmaker. If only Simon fit her criteria… Learning the truth about the twinkle-eyed charmer could change everything—but for better or worse?

Kathryn Cooper Writes’ Review

4 out of 5 STARS

I love Thanksgiving. I get to relax with family and eat delicious food. Win win! Montana Match is a Thanksgiving book! So fun. I enjoyed this read, but I think I would have liked it more if I had already read the series books before this one.

Fiona and Simon are the main characters with problems in life. Fiona is trying to get to know a large family that is new to her. She has made a high standard of what she should be doing in her life. She thinks she needs to have a job that pays better and just different from the one she has enjoyed for so long. Because of some family advice she feels like she must find the perfect guy. Her definition for perfect doesn’t turn out to be right for her.

Simon has gone through hard times with his family. He has to look back on his life and figure out if he is moving forward. He has to decide if he needs to change his relationship with his little brother. Simon is really fun and makes me laugh. Fiona and Simon have some really sweet moments as they try to keep from feeling serious about each other and fail big time .

Overall Montana Match by Carol Ross is a sweet adult romance that brings you through real life scenarios. If you enjoy Harlequin’s Heartwarming reads then go find this Thanksgiving romance story which will bring a smile to your face.

Sweet Melody 4 out of 5 STARS Review

Sweet Melody by Heidi McCahan. 2019.

When a struggling bakery owner is rescued by a wannabe songwriter with hidden culinary talents, they discover they can make sweet harmony … if they can only learn to work together.

Rhett Foster longs to change the world with his music, yet he can’t even finish writing one song. Battered by a string of failures and disillusioned, he returns home to Portland, Oregon. While he desperately wants to create a chart-topping hit, his dad mandates a new mission: move to coastal vacation hotspot Seabrook, Washington and expand the family’s successful restaurant chain.
In danger of destroying her late parents’ legacy if she doesn’t diversify her menu, Lindsay Carmichael will try anything to save her bakery. But with a tiny budget and an injured employee who can’t work, she has no choice but to sink the last of her savings into buying a dilapidated food truck and hiring Rhett as a part-time barista. What she doesn’t know is that the handsome songwriter has a secret … one that could destroy her business and her heart.

Kathryn Cooper Writes’ REVIEW
4 out of 5 STARS

Sweet Melody took me on an up and down ride of life. There were moments of excitement and accomplishment and times of worry and sadness. I enjoyed this read a lot.

Lindsay was a baker of deliciousness. It was hard to read because currently I’m trying to NOT eat a lot of sweets. My mouth watered a little when she talked about her cupcakes. I felt so proud for Lindsay as she continued to push for her little business. That would be so hard to keep a small business going. Plus dealing with the stress of taking care of employees.

She was lucky to find an employ named Rhett. Rhett had some secrets about his family, but he was a great barista. Rhett and Lindsay felt a lot of sparks building up between them. It was so cute to read about them trying to NOT feel attracted to each other. Watching their relationship build and go up and down was exciting.

I really enjoyed reading Sweet Melody by Melody McCahan. It was full of real life good and hard times. The building up of their relationship was entertaining! I recommend this read to anyone that likes to read clean delightful romance.

A little mix-up…

Could make her Christmas wonderful!

Now she’s stranded—until Tanner invites her to spend Christmas with his family in their rustic, cozy cabin. EXCERPT! SNEAK PEEK!

Tanner’s voice held out little hope, but he led her toward the blue cabin. The inexpertly painted sign over the door read “Red’s Stuff.” Tanner held the door open so Natalie could enter first. Rough shelves held boxes, cans, winter hats, mosquito repellent and several other items Natalie couldn’t immediately identify.
A voice called out from the shadows in the rear of the room, “Who’s there?”
“It’s just me, Tanner Rockford.”
“Oh, hey, Tanner. Your family already stopped by on their way to the cabin, and your uncle left the utility sled out back for you. Those girls are sure excited about Santy Claus.”
Girls? Natalie’s jaw began to ache under the strain of holding her tongue while pretending she didn’t know anything about Rockford. Married, just as she had suspected. Worse, he had kids. Brooke would be devastated. But at least Natalie knew his real name.
“Yeah, the girls are excited all right. Say, Red, this lady got off the train by mistake, and she
needs a place to stay. Do you know of any rentals?”
A gnome appeared, peeking around a stack of boxes. The top of his head shined even in the
gloom, and if the remaining hair had ever been red, the color had long ago faded. Natalie didn’t like the speculative gleam in his eye. “Well, now. This time of year, most part-time cabins are locked up tight.
Time was, folks would leave them open in case someone needed a place to stay, but nowadays…” He shook his head sadly. “I suppose, if you’re in a bind, I have a place out back—”
“Are you talking about your woodshed?” Tanner asked.
“Well, yeah, but there’s room for a cot.”
“There’s no stove, is there?”
“I’d throw in a good sleeping bag—” the old man gave a sly smile “—for a fair price.”
“Never mind,” Tanner told him. “She’ll be staying with us.”
Us? Like Tanner and his wife and kids? That would be beyond awkward, especially if he figured out she was connected with Brooke.
“Wait. I never said—”
“It’s that or camp out in Red’s woodshed. Our place has heat and beds. Your choice.”
Well, when he put it like that, Natalie supposed she’d survive awkward.

The Cowboy’s Holiday Bride (Wishing Well Springs #1) By Cathy McDavid Contemporary Romance Paperback & ebook, 384 Pages November 1, 2020 by Harlequin Heartwarming

Changing his heart…

Would be a Christmas miracle!

Cash Montgomery creates Western-themed weddings and knows all about happily-ever-after. In theory. He’s been hurt too many times to think that he could ever be a marrying man. His business partner Phoebe Kellerman doesn’t agree with him—on anything! At Christmas, Cash is visited by three of his past girlfriends…and he begins to see the error of his ways. Will it be before he loses Phoebe, the woman he’s falling for?

EXCERPT SNEAK PEAK!
“What does that mean?” Phoebe was less adept than her sister at interpreting tones and inflections.
“Just that… Well, come on. You. And Cash. Together…”
“So what?” Don’t say it. Please.
“You…like him—”
“I do not,” Phoebe insisted with enough vehemence that Georgia Ann sent her a curious look.
“You always have.” Trudy was either mixing batter or running a blender, for a whirring sound filled the background. “Since you were kids.”
“I had a crush on him for maybe two months in high school.”
“Oh puhleeze.”
“I’m not going to dignify that with a response.” Neither was she giving herself away to her astute sister.
Phoebe had harbored a crush on Cash for a lot longer than two months or even two years. But he’d barely noticed his younger sister’s best friend except to demand she make herself scarce. She’d hung on arena fences, gawking, when he’d competed in junior rodeo, and bought tickets to see him compete professionally during his college days. She’d visited him in the hospital when he blew out his shoulder bulldogging at the National Finals Rodeo, attended his graduation from Arizona State University, had lunch with him during her periodic excursions to Phoenix, followed his career at Strategic Design and kept up with the latest happenings in his life from his sister.
She’d secretly cried when, during his junior year at ASU, he’d gotten engaged for the first time. She’d emerged from the despair brought on by his second engagement vowing enough was enough and eagerly pursued the first man to glance twice in her direction—a mistake that had ultimately wasted the best part of her twenties and left her with nothing to show for it except a refusal to repeat past mistakes.
At least one big positive came out of it—she’d been too immersed in her own failed love life to feel much when she’d heard about Cash’s third engagement. Not long after that fiancée bailed, he and his sister converted the ramshackle house and falling-down barn they’d inherited into the present day Wishing Well Springs, bringing Phoebe in as a partner.
The irony didn’t escape her. One of the most popular wedding venues in Arizona was
run by three people with a history of broken engagements and failed relationships. Go figure.

Kathryn Cooper Writes’ REVIEW
4 out of 5 STARS

A Ranger for the Twins by Tanya Agler is a story about the past blending into the present. Lucie and Caleb had been best friends in high school and had gone through a difficult medical problem that Caleb went through. For some reason they went their separate ways after graduating high school. Lucie gets married and is blessed with twins. Her son and daughter mean everything to her. Lucie’s husband commits fraud and is sent to prison. They get divorced because Lucie realizes that they didn’t love each other.

At the beginning of the book is has been a year or 2 since Lucie and her past husband were divorced, but the people in her community still give her a hard time. Many people lost money through her ex-husband and believe she had been a part of it. I can’t even imagine the emotional pain that would cause. Lucie shows strength to stay strong and close to her real friends.

I just returned home from visiting Yellowstone National Park so it was fun to hear the character Caleb occasionally talk about his past job at Yellowstone. Caleb decided to move back to his old town where his cousin lives. He had left behind a legend of being a hero that many people all over the US found out about. He also finds physical struggles that makes me feel the pain for him. I love how Caleb goes from crushing on Lucie in high school to becoming a man who is completely in love with her. I love all the scenes with Lucie and Caleb going back and forth on trying to understand their feelings of attraction.

If you enjoy contemporary clean romance with a twist of a past and a present relationship, then you’ll love A Ranger for the Twins by Tanya Agler.

Kathryn Cooper Writes’ REVIEW
4 out of 5 STARS

I enjoyed reading this sweet clean romance with beautiful ranch scenery. It took me through a life story of loss, challenges, and love.

Reece was a rancher that went through years of hard work to become successful. He showed kindness with everyone he was around. That earned him some points with the ladies. I had to hold back the happy tears when he spent time with his daughter Zoe. Zoe was such a cute little girl in this story. Nan, Asa, Daisy, Mitch, and Willard were side characters that made me smile. I loved the side characters!

Claire’s father had passed away, and she was given some of his property. Her life as Zoe’s mom and a nurse had become normal for her. Her life changed when she told Reece that he was Zoe’s father. Claire went through hard things in life and so had Reece. I enjoyed watching them slowly but surely grow together.

Ready to Trust by Tina Radcliffe was enjoyable to read and go through Reece and Claire’s ups and downs and straight forward moments of life.

I’ve never been on a cruise ship, but I very much want to go! It was fun to feel like I was on a cruise while reading. This story talks about a girl that gets on a cruise that she had saved up her money for a long time. A few months before the cruise Caitlyn and her fiance break up. She was surprised to see him on the ship and married. Caitlyn on the spur-of-the-moment decides to tell a “little” lie that she had lost her memory. Thankfully a sweet guy comes into her life, but he happens to work on the ship.

Greg and Caitlyn both go through ups and downs with work and life. It’s sweet to see them both grow stronger to take care of their lives because of the friendship they build. It’s always fun to see friendships turn into a bit more than just feeling like “friends.”

Excerpt

Two lessons, one dance, Camile reminded herself. Get in, get out, done.

“Good! You got this. Again,” she said.

Rhys repeated the movement.

“Now, this time, don’t stop. Just keep box stepping, and I’ll do it with you.” They performed the movements together with Camile counting and snapping her fingers.

Still moving, she danced around in a half circle until she was facing him, mirroring his steps. “Excellent. And there you have it. Now you’re going to try it with me.”

He stopped in his tracks, brow lines back in full force.

Facing him, Camile patted her left shoulder and instructed, “Right hand here.” He complied, and she ignored how nice the heat of his hand felt as it seeped through the thin fabric of her tank top. “Left arm up.” He obeyed. Silently, she admitted there was something vaguely satisfying about barking orders at him. But this action, the press of his palm against hers, the feel of the work-roughened texture of his skin, her hand enfolded in his, was slightly more difficult to ignore. She told herself it was just the shock of it all, being here with him. Dancing.

“Ah,” he said, tilting his chin toward the floor again. “Now I see why you’re wearing heels.”

“Is that your way of insulting my height?” she joked, breaking her own rule before she could stop herself.

He brought his gaze back up and locked it on to hers, and Camile was a little taken aback by the intensity she saw there. “No. Absolutely not. Why would that be insulting? I’m sorry if you took it that way.”

“Um, it’s—it’s fine,” she stammered. “I was joking. I know I’m short. It would be difficult to forget as the only short person in a family of very tall people. You know, recessive genes or whatever.”

“That would not be the case,” he said. “Height is polygenic. And there are other variables. It’s more quantitative than that. So the term recessive doesn’t apply when it comes to height.”

Camile squinted up at him, trying to decide if he was serious. When he didn’t blink, she said, “I know. At least three genes are involved and like six alleles, right?” Genetics had been one of her favorite premed courses. “Plus, there are nutritional and environmental factors. I wasn’t being literal. I was exaggerating for effect. Making fun of the fact that I drew the short straw in my family.” She added a wink.

Gaze narrowed in on her, he shook his head a couple of times very slowly as if thinking carefully about how to respond.

Embarrassed by her lame joke, she clarified, “That was a bad pun. Sorry.”

When he spoke, his eyes traveled over her while his mouth hinted at a smile. “No, you’re wrong. It was not a bad pun. It was a very good pun. But there’s nothing inferior about your genetic fate. Quite the contrary. Height is also a very subjective preference as far as attractiveness goes. Studies have shown that shorter women with discernible curves are the most symmetrically pleasing. I happen to agree with the consensus.”

Camile stared into his earnest blue eyes and felt her lips part. What the…? Her neck went hot as she tried to wrap her brain around this moment. Obviously, the man was brilliant in a way that resulted in a unique perspective. But the part that had her speechless was the fact that he’d just given her a really lovely compliment. Like, spellbindingly good. And he seemed sincere. Granted, the delivery wasn’t the smoothest, but the meaning was there. It also caught her off guard and made her feel warm in even more surprising ways. Ways she shouldn’t feel. Not with Rhys McGrath, date absconder, social snob and possibly worse, if any of the rumors were true.

Kathryn Cooper Writes’ REVIEW
4 out of 5 STARS

Always the One was another great book by Tara Randel. I mostly listen to audio books these days so when I actually read a book it has to be able to keep my attention. This book kept me happily wanting to read more.

Derrick and Hannah were the main characters and both told the story. They had fallen in love when they were growing up and were separated just before they eloped as teenagers. The main story took place 17 years after Hannah had been taken with her parents into hiding. Derrick was in the FBI and finally found Hannah after all those years, but she wasn’t happy to be found. Derrick discovered that she was in a serious relationship with another man.

Throughout the story I continued to feel terrible for Hannah and what she had gone through and how her life had to change drastically. It was also hard to see Derrick go through the emotionally pain of trying to get her back in his life. Along with the sweet romance there was a little bit of mystery which I enjoyed.

Always the One by Tara Randel was a clean contemporary adult romance full of the ups and downs of love. If you enjoy books full of past love pushing its way back to the present then you will adore this read.
