Aspen Everlasting Event at B&N

With 4 boys between the ages of 2 and 9 my life gets busy. I am just now posting about my Waco, Texas Barnes&Noble visit on December 5th. It was a dream come true! I was the author!! I spoke about what I went through to get my book written and published.

I hope to do more events at book stores, libraries, junior highs, and high schools. It was so fun talking to teens about what I love to read and how I became an author.

Email me if you’d like me to visit your school. kathryncooperwrites@gmail.com

Elementals: The Prophecy of Shadows by Michelle Madow: Cover Reveal!!

Michelle Madow is a great author. I loved her Transcend Time series! She has a new series coming out in January! Today is the Cover Reveal day! It looks amazing! I look forward to reading another great book by Michelle.

Elementals: The Prophecy of Shadows (Elementals #1) by Michelle Madow. 2016. Dreamscape Publishing. Goodreads.

MichelleMadow_Elementals_POD

When Nicole Cassidy moves from sunny Georgia to gloomy New England, the last thing she expects is to learn that her homeroom is a cover for a secret coven of witches. Even more surprisingly … she’s apparently a witch herself. Despite doubts about her newfound abilities, Nicole is welcomed into this ancient circle of witches and is bedazzled by their powers—and, to her dismay, by Blake—the school’s notorious bad-boy.

Girls who get close to Blake wind up hurt. His girlfriend Danielle will do anything to keep them away, even if she must resort to using dark magic. But the chemistry between Blake and Nicole is undeniable, and despite wanting to protect Nicole from Danielle’s wrath, he finds it impossible to keep his distance.

When the Olympian Comet shoots through the sky for the first time in three thousand years, Nicole, Blake, Danielle, and two others in their homeroom are gifted with mysterious powers. But the comet has another effect—it opens the portal to the prison world that has contained the Titans for centuries. After an ancient monster escapes and attacks Nicole and Blake, it’s up to them and the others to follow the clues from a cryptic prophecy so that they can save their town … and possibly the world.

Aspen Everlasting by Kathryn Cooper: Book Clubs

bookclub1

My first time attending a book club as an AUTHOR!! This felt unreal! I went and visited a group of friends in the Dallas/Fort Worth area. Over a year ago when I lived near them I had attended their monthly book club. Now I don’t live up there, but I had to go back and see them. They had read and loved my book!

bookclub4

I used to teach this teenager piano lessons! Now she’s grown up even more and loves young adult fiction. I hope she loves reading Aspen Everlasting!

bookclub2

Because Aspen Everlasting is only sold as an eBook right now I signed bookmarks! It was so fun to see how excited that made these ladies.

bookclub3

My friend Kylee who loves reading YA fiction couldn’t make the book club so we went out later. We had fun chatting about Aspen Everlasting and other great YA books we’ve been reading.

bookclub5

The next day I visited more past book club friends. I even had my friend Joanna on Skype! My friend Kiera stands next to me with the long curly hair and purple shirt. I added her as a character in my first chapter of Aspen Everlasting because she was one of my first BETA readers. I changed many things for the better because of her and my other three beta readers. Next to her is Meredith my first editor. She helped me feel ready to send my book off to publishers.

Aspen Everlasting by Kathryn Cooper. September 8, 2015. Cedar Fort Publishing.

Aspen Everlasting

Water splashed on all sides then took control of the tires. The car swerved right toward the river.
“No. NO. NO!” I turned the wheel toward the road. It didn’t work. Fast running water pulled the car into the flooded river.

Aspen Foster thinks she’s just a normal sixteen-year-old, but when her car’s caught in a flash flood, Aspen and her sister discover the superhuman strength they never knew they had.

Soon Aspen learns she’s not normal at all. She’s an Evermortal fairy, with powers beyond her wildest dreams. But the more Aspen finds out about her family’s past, the more dangerous her future becomes.

This riveting fantasy is full of action, adventure, and romance. Suspenseful and exhilarating!

KAT COOP FIGHTS! Brain Tumor 5K

I walked in the Brain Tumor 5K in Dallas on Saturday, October 3. I had finished my last chemo pills a few weeks before so this was my celebration! I had family come from around Texas. My husband and I walked with our 4 boys. Two could fit in the jogging stroller so they took turns on that. I loved seeing my family. I have been through so much pain and difficulty this past year, but I have gained more emotional strength than I ever knew I had.

I love my husband and 4 little boys. I love my family. I love God my Heavenly Father. I love my family members in heaven. I love my brother Jesus Christ. He is my Savior. He is my Redeemer. He has walked with me and held me through my life’s most difficult moments.

If you want to get to know your Savior better you must pray, serve others, read the scriptures, and repent daily. As your relationship with your brother Jesus Christ strengthens you will feel His love.

Here’s my new book friend Brandy! We both were volunteers at the Texas Teen Book Festival that we helped at almost all day from 9:30-3:30. Brandy stayed to keep working even after I left to drive home. We had so much fun meeting and talking with other volunteers and authors!
ttbf-2015-4
Gareth Hinds is an author I met that does graphic novels and middle grade books. I’m going to look into those because they sound like fun books for my boys.
ttbf-2015-5
I was able to talk with Carrie Ryan!! For me that’s like talking to a movie star! She has written an amazing and terrifying book trilogy. Seriously, I can’t handle scary books but was sucked into hers. I think there’s a possibility her books will be movies! The movies would be too scary for me. Hahaha!

Day 5 and Last Day of Aspen Everlasting Celebration!!!!!

Day 5 of celebration! Last day!
Aspen Everlasting by Kathryn Cooper

When you finish reading my book please rate it on Amazon and anywhere else. Thanks!

Today the last day of celebration I made my husband take a picture of us. Colt has supported my writing from the very beginning! He would give me ideas and was the first to read it. I didn’t do it on purpose, but he does have similarities with some of the characters. He is brave, strong, and the boy I fell in love with when I was 17!

Kathryn-haircut

My friend Laura started reading my book the day it released. She called to say she was loving it and that Aspen reminded her of me! Hah! I guess that’s right from our college days. Aspen and I are both claustrophobic, scared of heights, and super brave when hard times come.

I got my hair cut in a pixie cut today so that it’s my choice to have this short of hair not my brain tumor treatments!

Have fun reading Aspen Everlasting!
